Creating schools where every student feels safe and supported is at the heart of Longview Public Schools’ new Strategic Plan. As we work toward our Goal 1: Safe, Connected, & Thriving School Community, we want to ensure families and students know how to report safety concerns.
Longview Public Schools partners with HearMeWA, a statewide program that helps connect youth with trusted support when they have concerns about their safety or well-being. Whether a student is worried about themselves, a friend, or something happening in their school or community, HearMeWA provides a safe way to reach out for help.
Trained professionals receive and respond to reports involving a wide range of concerns, including any risk—or potential risk—to the safety and well-being of youth. Reports can be submitted by students, families, or other concerned adults, and youth have the option to remain anonymous.
HearMeWA is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year, and serves youth up to age 25 through multiple convenient ways to connect:
- Call: 1-888-537-1634
- Text: Text HearMeWA to 738477
- Submit a tip online: https://hearmewa.org/
- Download the HearMeWA app: Available in the Apple App Store and Google Play
When students know where to turn for help, they are better able to focus on learning, build healthy relationships, and thrive both in and out of school. By partnering with families and programs like HearMeWA, Longview Public Schools continues to strengthen a school community where every student feels safe, supported, and empowered to succeed.
