Longview Public Schools is proud to recognize Valerie Callahan, President of the Mt. Solo Middle School PTSO, as our October Volunteer of the Month!

Valerie’s commitment to Mt. Solo Middle School and its students is nothing short of extraordinary. Every morning—before beginning her full-time job—she runs the student store, ensuring students have access to the supplies and snacks they need to start their day. She also dedicates her evenings to supporting nearly every school event, greeting families with a smile and helping create a welcoming, positive atmosphere.

As PTSO President, Valerie leads with enthusiasm and heart. She plans and coordinates the school’s annual fundraiser, supports countless student activities, and helps organize beloved traditions such as the Pink Out Charity Event and the music department’s field trips. Her leadership strengthens the partnership between families, staff, and the community, enriching the experience for everyone at Mt. Solo.

Valerie exemplifies the dedication, reliability, and school spirit that make our volunteers so invaluable. We are proud to celebrate her contributions and thank her for making a lasting difference in the lives of our students and staff.
