Dear Parents and Families,

I trust you received the mailer of district information regarding the start of school.  If you have not yet received information specific to your child’s school, you should be seeing that soon.  Our teachers returned to school on Thursday and began the professional development and collaborative planning they will be involved in prior to the start of school.  Our teachers will continue this work in the coming week to assure our readiness for the start of school on September 8.

Next week an educator from your school will be reaching out to talk about your family needs for remote learning, along with information about school programs, daily schedules, Chromebooks and more.

Our initial goal to start the year is to provide students an outstanding remote learning experience. Additionally, we are planning to get students back to in person learning as soon as the local health situation allows. We are ready and looking forward to the day our kids come back to school.

Please contact your school or the district office with any questions you might have about the start of the school year.  We can’t wait to get back to serving the children of Longview.  Thank you for supporting our schools.

Respectfully,
Dan Zorn, Superintendent
Longview Public Schools
