Dear Parents and Guardians,

This week our middle schools welcomed 6-8th graders back for in-person learning. I am very proud of our middle schoolers, who are doing an exceptional job following the COVID-19 safety regulations.  It was very nice being able to welcome our kids back to the classroom and to see them in-person. All reports indicate that things are running smoothly.

Freshman orientation and campus tours for our high schools occurred on February 25 and 26. Freshman learned the basics at each school starting with where and how to do their daily health attestations, where their classes were located, meeting their teachers, how lunch schedules work, how and where to catch the shuttle bus, and how to follow COVID safety rules while on campus.   The campus tour and orientations allowed the students to get familiar with their new school and gave the staff an opportunity to work through some last minute details before all high schoolers begin hybrid learning on March 1.

I am very pleased with all the work that has gone into reopening schools safely. I would encourage you to visit the district website or your child’s school website as there is a lot of information posted to help families navigate the daily school events and notifications. Also, watch for notifications sent to your email or download the district mobile app.

I look forward to another great week and am so pleased that we will be welcoming all of our high school students back to our schools on Monday.  Thank you for all you do to help keep infection rates down so we can keep our kids in class!

Respectfully,

Dan Zorn, Superintendent
