Dear St. Helens Parents and Families,

Over the past few weeks, the number of new COVID infections in our community has grown. We have seen the impact of higher community infection rates at St. Helens Elementary as several families and students recently contracted the COVID-19 virus.  As a result of contact tracing and other health concerns, student and staff absences have been very high recently.

Due to the impact of growing community and school COVID infection rates, and out of an abundance of caution, St. Helens Elementary will move back to remote learning starting Tuesday, November 17. We will continue monitoring community health conditions and return to hybrid, in-person learning when conditions allow.

Since St. Helens Elementary is moving back to full remote learning, students who receive special education services and supports at this school will do so as well. Staff may bring students in for services on a case-by-case basis. Please reach out to your child’s special education teacher for more information. 

All other elementary schools will remain in hybrid learning.

The district is working closely with state and local health professionals and its Board of Directors to keep students and employees safe. We appreciate your understanding as we work through these challenging times together.
