At their regular meeting on January 11, 2021, the Board of Directors:

  • Approved the meeting minutes from December 14, 21 and 28; the personnel report; the occasional worker pay schedule which adopted the minimum wage increase and warrants.
  • Were recognized for their volunteer service on the board, as part of School Board Appreciation Month.
  • Heard an update on the COVID-19 Pandemic situation in Cowlitz County. Cases have risen to an all time high as of Monday, January 11, following the winter break.
  • Heard a report on the new app that has been unveiled for the District's website. The app allows people to maneuver through the district website on mobile devices.
  • Heard a number of public comments about student mental health and getting students back in school. Shawn Nyman of the SEIU asked the board to support creative ways to get paraeducators back to work full time.
  • Adopted the 2021-22 Budget Development Calendar.
  • Adopted the 2 Credit CTE Course Sequences required by OSPI as part of new pathway to graduation requirements.
  • Heard a brief report about enrollment declines for the year hovering around 300 FTE, which will begin to effect revenues this month (January 2021).
  • Decided to change a special meeting they planned for January 18, to January 19 at 6:00 p.m.
  • The next regular meeting is January 25, 2021, at 6:30 p.m.
