STUDENT TEACHERS

The selection and placement of student teachers will follow procedures and practices that do not unlawfully discriminate on the basis of race, color, sex, national origin, religion, age, marital status, sexual orientation, or the presence of any sensory, mental, or physical handicap. Only students sponsored and recommended by a university school of education will be considered for placement. The assignment of student teachers to supervising teachers will be made by the superintendent or his/her designee. Student teachers will be assigned only to teach­ers of demonstrated ability.

The evaluations of the student teacher in terms of satisfactory completion of the stu­dent teaching experience will be made cooperatively by the supervising teacher, and the college supervisor, with the college supervisor having the final responsibility for grades.

Honoraria for services of the personnel of the district is the responsibility of the spon­soring university. In addition, the college shall reimburse the district for direct payroll expenses associated with payment of the honoraria.
