RETIREMENT
1. All certificated employees entering the system are required to become members of the Washington State Teachers' Retirement System (a division of the Department of Retirement Systems) as prescribed by law.
2. All classified employees entering the system are required to become members of the Washington Public Employees’ Retirement System or School Employees’ Retirement System (divisions of the Department of Retirement Systems) as prescribed by law.
In the event an employee becomes disabled in the performance of work related duties and is receiving worker's compensation benefits, the district will send the employee a notification of temporary disability benefit options. It is the responsibility of the employee to pursue this option with the Department of Retirement Systems.
