Memorial Stadium Updates 2025
The district is making significant improvements to Memorial Stadium, thanks to the generous support of Longview voters who approved the replacement capital projects and technology levy in April 2022.
Phases one, two and three of the modernization project are now complete, featuring a new turf field for soccer and football, an upgraded running track, enhanced shot put and pole vault areas, a state-of-the-art scoreboard and a modernized stadium grandstand facility. These upgrades improve the experience for athletes, students, and fans alike.
Looking ahead, phase four of the project will focus on improving the visitor side bleacher system. Planning recently started for the phase four upgrade to install a raised bleacher system to support seating for an estimated 400 to 500 people. When completed, the upgraded visitor side bleacher system will improve visitor viewing of events on the turf field, along with better viewing of track and field events.
Construction for phase four is currently planned for the summer of 2026. We are excited about the continued transformation of Memorial Stadium and appreciate the community’s support in making these upgrades possible.
This Memorial Stadium modernization project also supports the local economy, as phase three work was completed by JH Kelly, a trusted local partner the district has successfully collaborated with on numerous past projects. We’re fortunate to have their expertise on the Memorial Stadium modernization effort.
On August 19, 2025, Longview Public Schools celebrated the ribbon-cutting for the newly modernized Memorial Stadium grandstands. These updates honor the stadium’s history while making it ready for students, families, and the community for years to come. A big thank you to our voters, JH Kelly, LSW Architects, and everyone who joined us to celebrate this special day.
