Climate & Culture

At Longview Public Schools, one of our main focus areas is creating a positive school climate and culture. Every spring, we survey students, parents and staff to help measure how our schools are performing in this area. We do this because school climate plays a big role in student academic success. It refers to the overall atmosphere of a school, including how safe, welcoming, and supportive it feels. When students feel safe and valued, they are more likely to participate in class and engage with their learning. Research shows that a positive school climate can lead to higher grades and better attendance.

Overall, a positive school climate is essential for helping students succeed academically. By fostering a welcoming and supportive environment, schools can help all students reach their full potential.
