World Language
Two years of World Languages are required unless students take two credits of Personal Pathway Requirements in their place. Two years of the same World Language are required for students who plan to attend a four-year university directly after graduation.
American Sign Language
AMERICAN SIGN LANGUAGE - I ASL111/ASL112
Introduces the basics of American Sign Language (ASL). Designed for students who have little or no previous knowledge of ASL. Readiness for learning will be approached via visual-gestural communication techniques, visual discrimination, and visual memory exercises.

SPANISH 3: PRE-AP SPANISH LANGUAGE AND CULTURE - SPA311/SPA312
This course is a blended class with AP Spanish Language and Culture and begins to prepare the student for success on the AP Spanish Language and Culture test the following year. Assessments will model assessments activities on the AP Exam. It emphasizes communication by applying the interpersonal, interpretive, and presentational modes of communication in real-life situations. This includes vocabulary usage, language control, communication strategies, and cultural awareness. It strives not to overemphasize grammatical accuracy at the expense of communication. To best facilitate the study of the language and culture, this course is taught almost exclusively in Spanish.
