Two years of World Languages are required unless students take two credits of Personal Pathway Requirements in their place. Two years of the same World Language are required for students who plan to attend a four-year university directly after graduation.
American Sign Language
AMERICAN SIGN LANGUAGE - I ASL111/ASL112
Introduces the basics of American Sign Language (ASL). Designed for students who have little or no previous knowledge of ASL. Readiness for learning will be approached via visual-gestural communication techniques, visual discrimination, and visual memory exercises.

MANDARIN CHINESE III - CHI311/CHI312
This is a college-level Chinese course that focuses on foundational Mandarin pronunciation, basic grammar, and the development of oral communication skills. Through drills, interactive practice, and structured speaking and writing activities, students build accurate pronunciation and a solid understanding of basic sentence patterns. The course emphasizes communicative competence, active participation, and cultural awareness to support meaningful language use. By the end of the course, CHIN 103 strengthens core Chinese language skills and prepares students for intermediate coursework (such as CHIN 201) by ensuring confidence in pronunciation and fundamental spoken sentence construction.
