As we begin the 2025–26 school year, I am filled with excitement and gratitude for the incredible work happening across Longview Public Schools. Each new year brings fresh opportunities to learn, grow, and strengthen our shared commitment to student success. Thank you for your continued support of Longview Public Schools and for trusting us to provide the best possible learning environment for your children. Our vision is to insure students Belong, that they Believe in their potential, and that they Achieve at high levels – ready for the future of their dreams.

This year is especially meaningful as we continue developing a new strategic plan that will guide our work for the next six years. Through listening sessions, surveys, and conversations, we are gathering valuable input from students, families, staff, and community members to ensure the plan reflects the hopes and priorities of those we serve. Once complete, each of our schools will have a clear roadmap for creating a unified focus for teaching, learning, and support services across our district.

As superintendent, I make it a priority to spend time in our schools each week—often daily—meeting with principals, joining Professional Learning Community sessions, and holding listening sessions with student advisory groups. These experiences help me identify areas for growth and ensure we provide the supports and systems our schools need to help every student succeed. This valuable time spent collaborating with staff and students will lead to meaningful improvements that benefit our entire district community.

Finally, this message would not be complete without mentioning that I am continually inspired by the skilled work and dedication of our staff—from administrators, teachers, and counselors to custodians, nutrition staff, and support teams. No matter their role, they work together to create caring, supportive learning environments so each of our students can reach their full potential.

It’s an exciting time of collaboration and purpose as we work with our families and staff to shape the future of education in Longview. Your involvement, encouragement, and belief in our schools make all the difference. Together, we are building a bright future for every child.
