2026-27 Start of School Year Highlights

The 2026–27 school year is officially underway at Longview Public Schools!

Starting the school year, students across the district have reconnected with friends, met new teachers and classmates, settled into classroom routines and begun a new year of learning.

From the first days of school for our elementary, middle and high school students to the arrival of our youngest learners, our schools have been filled with energy, connection and excitement for the year ahead.

Our early learners have been busy learning letters and sounds, making new friends, settling into classroom routines and enjoying time outside. These first days are an important opportunity for students to build confidence, create connections and become familiar with their new school community.

We are grateful to our students, families and staff for helping make the first two weeks of school a strong start to 2026–27. We look forward to all that is ahead as we continue working together to create schools where every student feels they belong, believes in themselves and has the opportunity to achieve.
